Earlier this month, the Vancouver Park Board decided that they would like to end the display and rescue of cetaceans at Vancouver Aquarium. The aquarium is fighting against this decision, as the aquarium is the only rescue facility of its kind in the area, and has rescued many whales, dolphins, and porpoises.
The Vancouver Park Board decided to vote for the end of Vancouver Aquarium’s cetacean display and rescue after people began asking for Vancouver Aquarium to end cetacean captivity.
It is unfortunate that some people are making it sound as though the aquarium decided to do this, because they have not.
If Vancouver Aquarium does decide to cave in to this decision, I am afraid I will no longer be in support of them, but it appears that they currently will not give in to the public’s agenda.
